Aurora

Do you know about the aurora? Aurora is a natural phenomenon of luminescence light in the sky. Usually, the aurora will be visible only at night and occur in the polar regions. Both the north pole or south pole.
Aurora's happening in the north polar region is called the Aurora Borealis or commonly known as "Northern Polar Lights". This phenomenon occurs in September to October and in March to April. Aurora Borealis seen very clearly in the Arctic Islands north of Canada. Aurora Borealis name given by Pierre Gassendi in 1621. Derived from the word "aurora" which is the name of the Goddess of Dawn in Roman mythology and "borear" (in Greek) which means "wind from the north. Provided that the Aurora Borealis looks reddish or greenish glow from the north, as if the sun will rise from there.

In the southern polar region, the aurora is called Aurora Australis. The word "australis" comes from the Latin meaning "from the south". This phenomenon is called "Southern Polar Lights" has the same nature with the Aurora Borealis. However, the Aurora Australis visible only in Antarctica and a few places in Australia and South America. Especially the closest Antarctica.
Aurora is due to the interaction between the particles of the earth's magnetic field like electrons, protons, and other heavy particles with atoms and molecules found in the earth's ionosphere layers. Atom and particle emitted by the sun and are often called "solar wind".
Aurora comes with a variety of colors and shapes. Color variations due to the influence of atoms, ions, or molecules of constituent and also influenced by the level of solar wind activity. For example, ions or molecules give nitogen pink, green, sky blue, dark blue, or violet. Purple color also comes from neutral helium. Causing oxygen atoms scatter green and red colors. Meanwhile, the bright orange color comes from the neon. Aurora often appears to form a curtain that ran east-west direction or scattering of light. Sometimes, a quiet bow-shaped. In the form of a curtain, every curtain consisting of parallel light parallel to the direction of the magnetic field lines. It was impressive that the aurora is formed by the earth's magnetic field. Aurora forms can be changed by still hanging by the magnetism of the earth.

Not only on Earth

Aurora does not only happen on earth, but also can occur on other planets such as Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Cause the same as what happened on earth.
Jupiter and Saturn have magnetic fields stronger than the earth and also has a radiation belt is greater. Aurora of the two planets are observed by the Hubble Space Telescope. Aurora on Venus appears so bright and spread with various forms and intensity, sometimes spread to all over the planet. On August 14, 2004, SPICAM on Mars Express (a space exploration mission initiated by the European Space Agency) found an aurora on Mars. Precisely at Terra Cimerria, the coordinates of longitude 177 degrees east and latitude 52 degrees south. It is estimated that the aurora has a range of up to 30 km with an altitude of 8 km. Scientists suspect that the aurora emission associated with regions where the strongest magnetic field is localized. This is obtained after studying the map changes of magnetic surface is collected by the Mars Global Surveyor.
Not only the main course on the planet. Aurora can also occur on the planet escorts (satellite). Until now, the aurora can be observed only on Io, Europa, and which is Ganymade satellites of Jupiter with the Hubble Space Telescope.

Most Amazing

On 28 August and 2 September 1859, in the northern hemisphere, occurs aurora is most amazing, very bright and most extensive coverage. The incident was caused by large storms and the results geomagnetic be called the Aurora Storm.
By Balfour Stewart, the event was recorded by magnetografph at Kew Observatory, London. Then he published a paper to the Royal Society on 21 November 1861 which contained allegations that the aurora which occurred on 2 September 1859 is the impact of Carrintgon -Hodgson solar flare which occurred on 1 September 1859.
Besides Balfour Stewart, ship officers and newspapers in the U.S., Japan, Europe, Australia and even the aurora was also documented. As already reported one of the leading U.S. newspapers, the New York Times, that on Friday, 2 September 1859 occurred most amazing aurora can be seen very clearly from the city of Boston (USA). At the same time at Kew Observatory magnetograph noted geomagnetic storm for an hour.

Snow

Snow is...

Snow

Snow is a piece of ice crystals and soft white that falls from the clouds. Snow usually found in north and south poles. In addition, snow can be found in the region that enjoys four distinct seasons. Exactly when winter arrives. Although it was hard snow occurs in tropical areas, but snow can be found in high places like the top of the mountain. Examples are found in the snow in Puncak Jaya Wijaya (Papua, Indonesia). Such snow is usually called the eternal snow.
Indirect snow falling from clouds in the form of pieces of pieces of ice crystals. But the form of drops of pure water drops that have not been contaminated by other particles (impurities), which spread through the air. Then, under the cloud temperature is lower than 0 degrees Celsius, freezing drops of water drops. Of course, the freezing process is accelerated by the particles of impurities called "nukleator". Without nukleator, drops of water drops are not going to be a piece of snow crystal pieces. If the air temperature is able to keep the ice remains frozen, the pieces of the snowflakes will fall to earth and there was heavy snow. If lower, sometimes pieces of snowflakes can form small balls of ice balls. And there was hail. But if the crystals of snow crystals through a very hot temperature, the crystal and the crystal will melt down to earth in the form of water (rain). Not infrequently, the rain event began with the formation of snow.

Very Unique

The shape and structure of snow crystals are very unique pieces. Not a single snowflake has the same structure. Everything was different. In fact, snow is a natural phenomenon that occurred since the time of formation of the earth. Although different, all have the ability to reflect light in all directions. Therefore, when there is snow and snow-covered surface of the earth, then only white where visible everywhere. As if the earth is white and shiny.

Tornado

A tornado is a funnel-shaped wind vortex that formed in or on the cloud base and extends cumullusnimbus like proboscis to touch the ground. At the end surrounded by dust, water, or debris (depending on where the tornado formed) that come round. Color is affected by the tornado formation. For example, if a tornado is formed in the desert region is a golden brown color and the edges surrounded by dust and sand.
The word tornado taken from the Spanish "tronada" which means lightning storm. Another version says the word tornado comes from the Latin "tronare" which means to turn. There is also a saying that the word tornado comes from a combination of both. Meanwhile, another term for a tornado is "twister".
Very large pressure difference in the areas of local scale occurred under or near the cumullusnimbus cloud causes the formation of a tornado. In the process often begins with the appearance of funnel-shaped cloud vortex (funnel cloud). This causes a funnel cloud is often regarded as a tornado. Funnel cloud is a manifestation of the condensation funnel, without any wind on the surface. While a tornado is a vortex of strong winds. Water vapor that condenses causing a tornado funnel cloud looks like.
Tornadoes frequently reported appear to form a single vortex. Besides being a single vortex, a tornado also appeared with the same two large whirlpool better known as the twin vortex tornado. Sometimes, also comes with a large whirlpool surrounded by 2 (or even more) smaller vortex. Small vortex tornado is called a satellite.
With the wind swirling speed between 40 mph to 110 mph and range up to 250 feet (of about 75 m), is clearly damaging tornadoes. Moreover, a tornado can move up to miles and miles away. Whatever its path would be damaged and destroyed. Several tornadoes have some turbulence speeds up to 300 mph, range up to 4 km, and moved up to 219 miles. Scientists classify tornadoes based on damage caused. There are 3 types of scale used to classify tornadoes. There Fujita Scale (F) and Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF) made by Dr. T. Theodore Fujita. Scale for the weakest tornadoes are F0 and EF0, while for the strongest tornado F5 and EF5. Weakest tornado can damage trees, whereas the strongest can destroy homes and even permanent damage to a skyscraper. Similar scale is the Torro Scale with a longer range. T0 to T11 tornadoes for the weakest and the strongest tornadoes. Torro scale created by the Tornado and Storm Research Organization.
Tornadoes can occur anywhere except in Antarctica. Greatest frequency is in Tornado Alley, United States. While the smallest frequency in the tropics.

Waterspout

Waterspout is a tornado is relatively small. Usually formed in water. Twister speed between 60 to 90 km / h and lasted for 5 to 10 minutes. Though formed in the water, waterspout could move up to the land and destroy everything in its path. Waterspout usually accompanied by a fairly heavy rain. In fact, often accompanied by ice. This phenomenon often occurs in tropical regions.

Valentine's Day

My inside all turn to ash (so slow)
And blew away as I collapse (so cold)
A black wind took them away (from sight)
And held the darkness overday (that night)

And the clouds above move closer
Looking so dissatisfied
But heartless wind kept blowing, blowing

I used to be my own protection (but not now)
Cause my path had lost direction (some how)
A black wind took you away (from sight)
And held the darkness overday (that night)

And the clouds above move closer
Looking so dissatisfied
And the ground below grew colder
As they put you down inside
But heartless wind kept blowing, blowing

So now you're gone
And I was wrong
I never knew what it was like
To be alone...

On the Valentine's Day

Opening and Closing Notes

Time passed. No one can stopped it. Nothing seemed, finally arrived at the end of 2009. All of you have experienced in the 2009 has been stored and recorded in memory and notes, along with the memory and notes of the years before. So what was the most memorable thing for you in the 2009 ? Or do you like in general from the year 2008 ? Is there something can be in the year 2009 ?
Calm down for a moment, let yor body and mind relaxed. Do not engaged in activities that are less useful for a while. Because at the end of this year is a good time to reflect, remember, and rethinking everything we have done, naturally, and gain in 2009. We have our own self-correting-each and take advantage of everything that happens. Especially every mistake we make and the failures that we experience. Then, we prepare a plan for 2010 to live with ripefor the past mistake are not repeated in 2010. With this we can look in 2010 with great joy, hope, enthusiasme, and optimism.
Tomorrow should be better than yesterday.

Happy New year 2010
